概览
文殊院位于成都市中心文殊院街，是长江流域四大禅林之首，川西著名的佛教丛林。寺院始建于隋代，现存建筑为清代康熙年间重建，殿宇庄严、古木参天，门外红墙市井、门内梵呗清幽，是闹市中难得的一方净土。寺院还办有佛学院，是西南地区佛教教育的重镇。寺内常年香火不断，是成都人祈福静心的一方净土。[1]
历史沿革
文殊院前身为隋大业年间所建信相寺；唐会昌灭佛时毁，宋时复立。明末寺院再毁于兵火，清康熙年间慈笃禅师结庐修行，康熙三十六年（1697 年）官府士绅捐资重建，康熙帝御书「空林」匾额，故文殊院又名空林堂。民国年间能海法师等高僧曾在此驻锡弘法。新中国成立后，寺院被列为重点保护寺院并对外开放。[1]

寺内珍藏玄奘法师顶骨舍利、印度贝叶经与康熙御笔，三大士殿、说法堂层层递进；千佛和平塔矗立院中。康熙「空林」匾、米芾「海月诗」碑刻都是名迹。院外文殊坊红墙夹道、银杏金黄，香园的素斋与禅茶远近闻名。每年腊八节的施粥，是成都延续多年的民俗盛事。寺内园林一角还有茶座与素餐，闹中取静。[1]
参观贴士
地铁 1 号线文殊院站下车即到，寺院公版开放，进门可请三炷清香。早课时梵音绕梁，想拍清净画面请赶早；香园素斋饭点排队较长，可错峰用餐。游览约一个半小时，院外文殊坊小吃（甜水面、洞子口凉粉）值得一试。寺内茶馆竹椅坝子极大，适合体验寺院禅茶。参观请保持安静，殿内请勿拍照喧哗。[1]
Overview
On Wenshuyuan Street in central Chengdu, Wenshu Monastery ranks first among the great Chan monasteries of the Yangtze basin. Founded in the Sui dynasty and rebuilt under the Kangxi Emperor, its solemn halls and old trees hold a pocket of monastic calm behind red walls in the middle of the busy city.
The monastery began as the Xinxiang Temple in the Sui Daye era, fell in the Tang persecution of Buddhism, rose again in the Song, and burned in late Ming wars; the Chan master Cidu rebuilt it from 1697, and the Kangxi Emperor's own plaque reading 'Empty Forest' gave it its alternate name. Treasures include a skull relic of the pilgrim Xuanzang, Indian palm-leaf scriptures, the Thousand-Buddha Peace Pagoda, and a stele in Mi Fu's hand. Outside, the red-walled lanes of Wenshufang glow with ginkgos, and the Xiangyuan dining hall is famed for vegetarian cuisine.
Take subway Line 1 to Wenshu Monastery Station. Entry is free, with complimentary incense at the gate; come at morning chanting for the most ethereal atmosphere. The vegetarian restaurant queues at mealtimes — eat off-peak. Allow about ninety minutes, and try sweet-water noodles and Dongzikou jelly noodles in the lanes outside.
