概览
外滩沿黄浦江西岸绵延约 1.5 公里，南起延安东路、北至外白渡桥，52 幢建于二十世纪初的古典复兴风格大楼一字排开，素有「万国建筑博览群」之称。江对岸陆家嘴摩天楼群隔江相望，百年历史与摩登天际线在此同框。1996 年，上海外滩建筑群列入全国重点文物保护单位。[1]
历史沿革
1843 年上海开埠后，外滩一带被划入英租界，洋行、银行、总会沿江而起，二十世纪二三十年代形成今日天际线：汇丰银行大楼、海关大楼、沙逊大厦、中国银行大楼相继落成。1949 年后建筑转为机关与国企使用；二十世纪九十年代以来，外滩陆续置换为金融与高端商业，滨水步道改造后面貌一新。[1]

海关大楼的大钟自 1927 年敲响至今；原汇丰银行大楼穹顶马赛克壁画恢弘华丽；和平饭店的老年爵士乐队每晚演出；外滩源保留着圆明园路一带最早的外滩建筑。对岸东方明珠、上海中心、环球金融中心、金茂大厦构成世界最壮观的城市夜景之一；金陵东路渡口的两元轮渡可横渡黄浦江。[1]
参观贴士
地铁 2 号线、10 号线南京东路站下车步行可达。夜晚亮灯通常自傍晚持续至 22 时（夏季延长），节假日浦江两岸人山人海，建议错峰或清晨漫步。两元轮渡是本地人过江的选择，性价比远高于观光隧道；江风较大，冬季备外套。清晨的外滩是市民晨练的天下，另有一番安静气象。[1]
Overview
Along the west bank of the Huangpu River, the Bund stretches about 1.5 kilometers, lined with 52 grand buildings raised in the early twentieth century in classical revival styles — the celebrated 'museum of world architecture.' Across the water, the skyscrapers of Lujiazui complete the frame: a century of Shanghai history facing its future.
After Shanghai opened as a treaty port in 1843, banks, trading houses, and clubs raised the Bund's skyline through the 1920s and 30s — the HSBC Building with its mosaic dome, the Customs House whose clock has chimed since 1927, the Cathay Hotel (today's Peace Hotel, with its nightly old-jazz band), and the Bank of China. Across the river, the Oriental Pearl Tower, Shanghai Tower, World Financial Center, and Jin Mao form one of the world's great night views; the two-yuan ferry from Jinling Road crosses the river like a local.
Walk from East Nanjing Road Station on subway Line 2 or 10. Lights typically run from dusk to 10 p.m. (later in summer); on holidays the promenade is packed — come early morning instead. Dress for the river wind in winter.
